Harry Potter book four Question?
In chapter 25 of the Goblet of fire, ( the egg and the eye) Harry drops the egg, the marauder's map and sinks his leg into a trip stair. The egg breaks open and attracts Filch. Harry gets worried because if Filch sees the map he will see Harry on the same stair case as him. It says Harry tried to wipe the map blank with his wand, but couldn't reach. Why didn't he just summon the map with a summoning charm?
He could have whispered the incantation and summoned the map before Filch got there.
