Do some lice treatment shampoos cause hair loss?
I had lice before and after using the Lice Shampoo, my hair seems to be coming out a little more. But not a lot, just a few more hairs then usual when I brush my hair. But other then using the shampoo, I have no other symptoms of itchiness. Does the hair loss stop soon?
Steer clear from the chemical shampoos, hair loss is a minor side effect compared to some of the others that can occur. No chemical head lice treatment is legally allowed to be labeled as 'safe' as every insecticide is a poison. Every pesticide preparation has the potential to do serious damage depending on the individual.
The ONLY safe way to get rid of head lice permanently is to use a totally natural alternative to the chemical preparations then use prevention methods such as hairspray and tea tree oil mixed with water in a spray bottle every day to ensure they never return.
Remedies containing Neem Oil are known to be highly effective as Neem interrupts the growth and reproduction of the head louse. Neem’s insecticidal properties are widely recognized now and the oil is commonly available at your local health food store.

Dry scalp could be due to lice treatment?
Well, a little while ago my little sister had a case of lice. We did the treatment, but didn't get rid of all the nits and she got it again. We did the treatment again. We kept missing a lot of nits that we didn't see and she got it a lot. At least 6 or 7 times. Finally, we did the treatment and combed through every single hair and got rid of the infestation.
Well, ever since then she's had a very dry scalp and is always itching and it's flaking and stuff. Could this be due to so many lice treatments? I know those chemicals can't be good for you when you use a lot. And if it is caused by that, would regular dandruff shampoo help it? It's just she's always scratching, and we know it's not lice again because we've checked SO MANY times. There isn't a single nit or louse anywhere. Would dandruff shampoo help with this problem? Or should we try something else?
I am sorry to hear about the situation. I am a real advocate for using natural head lice remedies because those chemical treatments are so awful. As you have found out they can be dangerous. I would guarantee that the head lice treatment caused the damage. It makes me so angry that people are advised to use a pesticide (in other words "poison") on their childrens heads.
I would try the dandruff shampoo but if that doesn't work you will have to go see you doctor.
If she gets head lice again choose a natural alternative, trust me there are some out there that are safe and really do work.
