Therapy Recharging
Does this seem like I'm wasting my life?
I have a degree from a top university yet due to depression and abuse have been unemployed for the past 2 years. I had a very good paying job before but have been living off of my savings and not getting anything productive done. I have a nice house that I rented out to someone else because I can't afford it without working, so I am settling for very little as each day passes by,but I don't see anything changing in the near future. Is this time I can see in a productive way to recharge myself or is it just being wasted. I am not in a relationship even though I look great and am educated and all that, but I just waste away. Is this ok for another year or will it only make it harder to get back on track in life? I am in therapy by the way so I'm trying to get out of the depression and am doing what I can to help myself, but if you were to ask me what I've done in the past 2 years, the answer would be nothing.
Yeah it kind of seems like you're wasting your life.
You need a midlife crisis. Pack some stuff and just hit the road for a month. Go wherever your heart takes you. Live life, meet new people, and learn something along the way. Maybe you can bum it out in Hawaii for a while, or get a job on a fishing boat in Alaska (idk!)... anything you want!
Just spend some time away from the norm. Get out and experience life a little, and then come back with a new outlook on everything.

K... I am a very religious person. I have to think that if I were in your situation the most important thing is to know that you are loved. There is always someone who loves you and if you rely on that care you and those who care will find a way through. It sounds like you are going through some hard times. But know that you can make it. Even if it may seem like you are alone, you are not. THere is someone up above who loves you and can help you... if worst comes to worst, try to say a little prayer
