If not, can anyone think of a reason having to do with military that led to the fall of the Roman Empire?

The Roman government ran multiple metal smithing forges to forge weapons to equip the army. For the most part, this allowed the Romans to maintain a professional army whose only job was soldiering for years.
The reason why the Roman army fell is closely tied in with the failure of the Roman governmental system. The Empire depended on a singular strong man to provide strong leadership. Through the reign of Marcus Aurelius, the Empire had had several strings of good or at least competant Emperors with very few corrupt or tyrannous ones in between. However, after the tyrannical reign of Commodus, many Army generals, beginning with the Severans, sensed that the army could be used to secure both military and political power. The Severans themselves weren't that bad, but by using the army to determine the next Emperor, this opened the door for waves of corrupt and tyrnannical rulers. For roughly a hundred years, Rome was engulfed in civil war after civil war and went through 20 different emperors, and only one or two, if any, died a natural death. This period was the Crisis of the Third Century.
Diocletian tried to fix these problems by heavily consolidating the Empire by dividing it into several semi-independent states with its own "Caesar" to make ruling the Empire easier. This lasted up until the reign of Constantine the Great who reunited the Empire, but would divide it into Eastern and Western halves at his death. Both Diocletian and Constantine are to be considered "good" Emperors, but after the 3rd Century, Rome need more then just two good Emperors, they needed several in a row, which didn't happen. After Constantine's death, the Western Roman Empire returned to the political situation that forged the Crisis of the 3rd Century.
It did not help that shortly after the reign of Constantine, the Huns invaded Europe and drove the Goths, the Vandals, the Franks, the Alemanni, and the Burgundians out of their lands in Eastern Europe and into the Roman Empire. The Romans treated these migrations as invasions and many times tried to fight. It has been argued that the late Roman army could have defeated these invaders had they come one at a time, but not all at once, which is what happened. But after the defeat at Adrianople (modern Edrine, Turkey) and weakened by years of civil wars, the Romans turned to recruiting these various German tribes into the Roman Army. The East didn't do this as much, but the West depended on it for its survival. By 476, when the Western Roman Empire fell the German who brought it down was actually the commander of the Roman Army.
