Air Supply (It Was 30 Years Ago Today) Extra - interview
If I have a power supply whose fuse is blown every time I connect a circuit to it?
and I want to protect the power supply further, with cheaper fuses between the power supply and the circuit, do I add the external fuse in series or in parallel. For example A is the power supply, B is the extra fuse I want to add, and C is the circuit, I want C to blow fuse B so that I dont have to replace the fuse for A. Thanks.
If the load blows a fuse every time you connect, why do you continue to connect it? Get the circuit fixed or a bigger supply.
If you want to add an external fuse, it must be in series. A fuse in parallel (with the supply output) is a short and will blow immediately.
