acne like problem due to shaving...?
I have a really bad looking problem on my face, especially on my chin. The whole area on face where I shave looks a lot darker than the rest of my face. I know of all the websites that state the art of perfect shaving, but none of them say how to cure the problem once it has occured. Now I have started shaving 'with the grain' but I think the this is due to the ingrown hairs which I am not sure of.
Also, on my chin, there is acne like stuff due to hard shaving and really thick kind of hair which does not go away by smooth shaving.
Any suggestions on both of my problems including any websites that may work out for me are greatly appreciated.
Also tell me if I should use any moisteriser after shaving as I have an oily skin.
You could use an exfoliating scrub (check out Burt's Bees for some natural options). That will open the pores and help with the ingrown hairs. Apply a warm towel or shave after your shower, use a toner and try a light-weight moisturizer (again Burt's Bees has some good toners and you can try a lightweight moisturizer like the Milk and honey moisturizer). A water-based moisturizer is great as it will give you what you need, and will actually help reduce the amount of oil your face produces (when your skin is dry and aggravated it will produce more oil).
