Petsmart lied to me, anyone else have these problems?
I bought a goldfish starter kit from petsmart and since I didnt know a whole lot about goldfish(i know my fault) I asked a clerk about tank size and how much room each fish would need. She told me that my two goldfish (about 2.5 inches) would be fine in a 1.7 gallon tank. Both of my fish are fine I'm just a little upset and I dont have the room or money to buy a new tank if i would have known this I would have gotten a more appropriate fish like a betta, but I always loved goldfish I hope my little guys will be okay..
Petsmart employees generally only know what they are taught by petsmart corporate. The employee probably didn't even know she was lying to you. The best bet is to do a bunch of research online and from other fish keepers beforehand, and then just nod and smile when they give you advice that conflicts in the store. Stick to what you know. You're goldfish really won't be okay for very long in the 1.7 gallon. I'd get a larger aquarium ASAP. You could even put them in a large rubbermaid tub with the filter you currently have, until you can make it to the store to get a bigger aquarium. For now, you should be able to get a 10 gallon aquarium for $10 and a filter for it for $12, which isn't too bad. Buy the largest aquarium and filter you can afford, that way you won't have to upgrade as often when they grow. Like someone else said, you might want to ask for a much larger aquarium (30 + gallons) for Christmas, but don't wait that long to get your fish into something bigger than the 1.7 gallon. Also, until you get them into something at least 20 gallons, do daily water changes of about 20% of the water to keep the ammonia down. 20% of 1.7 gallons is about 5 cups, or 40 ounces. 20% of 10 gallons is 2 gallons (32 cups, 256 ounces). If your goldfish are taken care of properly, they can live more than 10 years (so anyone who said their fish lived fine for 3 years, 1 year, etc. might not be the best person to take advice from). It is possible for your goldfish to live up to 20 years, and the record is somewhere around 40 years. Goldfish do not only grow to the size of their aquarium. They grow until their aquarium cannot support them anymore, and then they get poisoned and die. What would be absolutely best for your goldfish is to set up a pond for them. Indoor or outdoor. It can be as simple as a half barrel or a large rubbermaid container, or larger and more elaborate if you want to put the time and money into it. Circa Starter Kit Review
Should I order the starter Bare Escentuals kit or should I buy everything separately?
Are the cosmetics in the starter kit really small? They seem tiny - does anyone know how long they last? If you've purchased this kit, do you think it's worth it to get the free brushes? I have been wondering if I should just by the larger sizes of each thing and then only one or two brushes. What do you think?
For all of you who didn't like Bare Escentuals, why didn't you like it? Would you recommend another similar type of product?

It is totally worth it. Just buying the brushes would cost more. You can buy it at www.trybareminerals.com - for me it was nice to split up the payment into 2.
It's a great line of makeup - what you get should last you 3 months at the very least! I can't recall how long mine have lasted, but I do know it's longer than any other makeup I've tried. I'd never go back to any other kind of makeup!
