Is slow hair growth a vitamin deficiency? (child)?

My daughter has the slowest growing hair!!

4yo, it was still above her shoulders (while her cousin's was near her behind).
7yo, last year, cut an inch or two and it's grown back but no extra.
She's otherwise a healthy tall girl, rarely sick, but what's with the hair? Can I help her?

i know Vitamin e pills and fish oil pills help hair growth, but with that age I'd check with her pediatrician.

who would you want to put oil in your childs hair?

i live in an extended family and my SIL puts oil on her child every single day without fail. her daughter has curly long hair (that's always oily).

on the other hand, even though my 9 month old has short hair and growth is really slow, her hair is silky soft and straight. my MIL & SIL insist I put oil on my daughter's hair so it grows faster and thicker. ok, so i would love my daughter to have long hair but will oil really work???? i tried it a few times and i just find that it makes her hair oily and sticky!!!!! i hate it. my MIL & SIL think I don't care about my child's hair cos I don't want to put oil in it. Does that make sense to anyone???

Sounds like an old wive's tail to me. My parents didn't oil my hair and it is beautiful...thick long and shiney!
