if i dye natural dark brown hair a shade of ash blonde would it come out a lighter brown?
i noticed the back of the ash blonde hair dye box has a before and after thing with brown hair going to a lighter brown shade. i really hate this dark brown shade but i know i would not look good with blonde hair. so i was wondering would this work the way i want it?
if you dye your dark brown hair that ash blonde, it would come out a lighter brown. it would not come out blonde. to be blonde, you would have to bleach the hair before applying the dye. you should be fine. good luck.

how can i fix my damaged orange shaded hair?
my natural hair color is brown. i dyed it black and it had it like that for two months. then my natural hair color started growing out. then my stupid self had a silly idea to go buy blonde hair dye at the store(no bleach) to try to make it brown. turns out the part that was brown (about 3 inches from the scalp) is now ORANGE and the rest is still black! i have to go to school in 3 days. how can i fix this?! help!
Get a bleach kit (Sally Beauty Supply has good ones and some hair strippers that doen't require bleach.) Then dye over top of the stripped hair. Make sure to condition very well before and after the process so that your hair doesn't break or get too damaged.
