Serum Men
I need a really good twist for my story.?
I'm writting a story about a group of older men who find a miracle youth serum. They now enjoy a second chance at life. What would cause one of the men to turn his back on his new life to return to being an old man?
I need something really original but believeable.
I would recommend against writing this story, as it has been done to death and your writing will inevitably draw comparisons to the movie Cocoon. Try something a little more innovative.
But if you insist, okay, try this on for size: the young old man keeps drinking the elixir over and over, remaining youthful. But he doesn't age, the passage of time starts to have no meaning for him, and he stops doing anything meaningful because he always thinks there will be time for it later. Then he realizes he has been young for a long, long time (like maybe generations) and he has nothing to show for his life. So he allows himself to get old just so he has some reason to keep moving forward.

5.A 45-year-old man who has had a myocardial infarction is found to have a serum cholestrol of 6.4 mmmol/l.His triglycerides are normal and the LDL cholestrol is the fraction raised.He is given a low-cholestrol diet but his serum cholestrol does not improve over the next three months.Will lowering the patient’s serum cholestrol substantially reduce the risk of further episodes of ischaemic heart disease?
The act of lowering cholesterol itself has never been shown to protect from heart disease. In any study where cholesterol has been lowered by drugs and there has been an apparent decline in heart attacks, it is not necessarily those that had the greatest reduction that had the most protection. Studies such as the TNT study, the Japan Lipid Intervention Trial, and the A to Z show no correlation between how much cholesterol is lowered and protection from heart attack. those who the greatest reduction in cholesterol levels were not necessarily the ones spared a heart attack.
A 54 year old man put onto statins will have a slightly reduced risk of CHD, regardless of how much his cholesterol is lowered. This will be offset by an increased risk of death from cancer, suicide or violence.
