Clip in hair extentions have left my scalp sore and itchy?

I bought some hair extensions a few weeks ago, they were new ina sealed pack and it was fake hair. Ever since I have worn them, my hair has been itchy and irritated just in the points where the clips were placed.I haven't worn them for a good 2 weeks, and its still causing irritation. Has anyone else had this before-what can I do?
