How to best treat chemical burns to the scalp?
I dyed my hair and left the dye on for hours, even though my scalp was hurting. I figured it couldn't do much damage, but about two and a half months later I noticed my hair is thinning out, and I know it is a lot thinner than before, and I used to have very thick hair. Is there any way to fix this, and what should I do? I'm sure I had a chemical burn. Is there any way for hair to continue growing, even after this intense mistreatment on my behalf, or is this a lost cause?
Go to the Dr. and then to a salon. If you put something on your hair and it makes your scalp hurt or itch, wash it out right away. It's always really good to test your skin first for sensitivity too. Dye never stays on your hair for longer than 30 minutes unless it is done by a professional.

use neosporem..do not return to the salon that burned you,,,see a doctor if you even suspect that their will be scarring ...you want to make sure that the follicle was not damaged and that your hair will grow back

you've finally figured out the mystery of women. actually, it's really only in Japan that they massage your scalp and treat you like a god (or goddess). In the States, I've found that people keep getting their haircut because beauticians tend to serve the role of a shrink-cum-hairdresser. anyway, funny post.
