Restore Stronger

Should we restore the Articles of Confederation?
I personally favor doing so. The federal government continues to sabotage the economies of our 50 states, interfere in our personal lives, and commit atrocities abroad and has done so pretty much since its inception.
Obviously, the Articles were flawed. They allowed states to put up trade barriers with other states and to restrict free movement. However, the Articles created a federal government that had no power to tax, which was one of their strongest points. They also lacked the Bill of Rights that was amended to the Constitution. Wouldn't we be much better off with a restored Articles of Confederation that was revised to fix those aforementioned problems.
Shouldn't Constitutionalists (not to mention conservatives) stop glorifying that rotten Constitutional Coup of 1787 and instead support the Articles that genuinely protected our liberty?
Probably the best option would be to completely dissolve the Union--and throw out both those documents, and then start from scratch.

How do you restore old chairs?
I have just purchased second hand dining room chairs that are quite vintage. The spring in the seats and the base underneath the seats all need fixing and I am not sure what the best way to do it is. The chair itself is very sturdy and strong- Can you simply take the springs out altogether and stuff with something? Or respring? thanks!
With no offense meant, it would help give more accurate answers if we knew the design of the chairs, and their basic, initial construction at least.
For you, it might serve you well to know the age of the chairs and some actual, or intrinsic value, and determine the value of restoring them. It may be, you can restore that SEAT area in a different way. Certainly that wouldn't increase the value, but it could be a more cost effective way to eventually enjoy the chairs. It may also not strictly be a DIY project?
