Minoxidil and Increased Hair Shed?

I'm young and female, my hair was thinning due to iron and so I started taking iron shots 3 months ago to get my hair back. It was pretty thin over the top of my scalp, to the point where I could only wear it back b/c otherwise you'd know I was thinning severely. Anyway, the doctor also said try using minoxidil to speed up the regrowth. I was on the minoxidil a month before I was on the iron, so I've been on minoxidil for 4 months. My hair is now shedding like crazy, in clumps several times a day, I think it's probably about 200 or so hairs a day everyday for about 2 weeks. Help me, any advice or experiences would be really appreciated as I'm getting very depressed and sad
