There may not be anyone on this list old enough to answer my hair care question, but can someone help?

My hair is thinning just on top, probably a combination of genetics, hypothyroidism, and wearing a CPAP machine cap on my head each night. I need suggestions for regrowing and thickening that hair. I'd prefer a natural solution, but I'd be willing to try a solution like Rogaine if it really works. I know nothing about hair extensions. Can they be used for short hair, say 6" or so? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi. If you want to give the "Buddhist tapping" and massage method ago it involves stimulating the scalp via massage and "taps" in order to encourage blood to the area. My hair thinned a few years ago due primarily - hormones, Stress (divorce) and using chemical hair dyes for years. I tried hair extensions but they really really damaged my scalp and can pull out the hair you have left - you have to be so careful with them so if you really want to try this make sure you see someone who excels in their field. A really good hair cut is a good way to go and then concentrate on what you've got not what you haven't. There also are a number of supplements on the market that are made to address this - ensure however that they have Zinc and B complex in them (you will also need to take a good multivit to cover all basis') Hope it helps

Thicken Your Thin Hair

plllz help ! how 2 prepare mayyonnaise - d 1 used 4 eating ,& d other used 4 applying on head. R both diff. ?

i luv mayonnaise sauce in burgers, etc... & 've heard that when applied on head, mayonnaise regrows lost hair [mine, due 2 sinusitis pro'lem] & helps in hair thickening ! if is it so, then plz also tell how 2 apply on scalp...i mean, do v 've 2 mix it up vid something else, or just apply it ? plz lemme know everything in details .

For the edible variety of the mayonnaise, tons of good cheap ones like Garden and Real are available in stores all over,but if you still want to make your own, here's how:
HOME-MADE MAYONNAISE:
In a large deep glass dish break in one egg and beat with a hand held electric whisk or a plain wire whisk. Beat in 4tablespoons of homemade powdered sugar and whisk again till frothy. Then pour in DROP BY DROP/ VERY.... SLOWLY any good vegetable oil (Sunflower, Salad Oil-too expensive, Sweekar, etc.) WHILE BEATING CONSTANTLY. Let the oil be incorporated very well by the egg mixture. When about 1 cup oil has been used up. Add juice of 1 lemon, 1teaspoon made Mustard (or in its place use 1teaspoon mustard powder which has been soaked in 1 tablespoon vinegar for 1/2hour) and salt and pepper to taste. Mix all these together till smooth once again. Again start incorporating the oil into the mayo very..... slowly. Incorporate about another 1-11/2 cups of more oil till the mayonnaise is thick and glossy. Adjust all the tastes, according to your requirement. Pour into a clean glass jar and store in the refrigerator (NEVER IN THE FREEZER!) Keeps well for upto about 15days.
Enjoy with salads, sandwiches or with fried fish!!!

Please seek medical advise regarding the hairfall, Mayonnaise wont help. It'll only give the remaining hair alot of gloss and shine!

MAYONNAISE PACK/CONDITIONER FOR HAIR (quantity is for shoulder length hair):
Beat 1 egg (discard the white if necessary), add juice of 1 lemon and blend well. Add ANY good brand of Olive oil, Coconut Oil or Castor Oil(hard to remove!!) drop by drop to the egg mixture while whisking till you incorporate at least a cupful into the mixture. Put this thick mayo pack on hair parting by parting. Wear a shower cap and wash off with very lukewarm water and a gentle shampoo after 30-40minutes.
Do NOT use hot water as the egg will curdle and make you stink!! You will have soft shiny hair after this treatment. Repeat use every fortnightly. Discard left-over mayo, if any, do not store or re-apply!

Once again, this will not help your hairfall, whatever the reason. Its merely an excellent conditioner for the hair.

Resort to Homoeopathy for your hairfall redressal!!! Nothing like it.

P.S. U can also use a regular blender with a whisking blade
(Sumeet,etc) and pour the oil from the dome top opening. Be careful not to splatter the stuff. Also careful that the mixer does not become too hot as the mayo will seperate and turn bad. So go in for the open bowl and whisk...
