Physicians Topical

I'm pregnant and I used viroxyn for a cold sore, without reading the "ask a physician if pregnant or nursing"?
I was not even thinking about it being harmful because it's topical until my husband saw the empty viroxyn container and came to me worried that I had used it! I feel so terrible now for not thinking it through and reading the back, I am about 6 1/2 weeks pregnant and I'm really worried that I am harming my baby!! Does anyone know anything about viroxyn while being pregnant??
My husband and I both get cold sores very badly. This past summer his entire bottom lip was a cold sore that would not go away so I finally made him go to the doctor to get some medicine (valtrex). I went with him and asked the doctor if I would get one what could I do because I am pregnant. And she said that using a little bit of cold sore medication is okay but to use it less often and not as much since I am pregnant. I use Zovarix

| | MSM/Glucosamine Topical Creme 4 oz: K $10.34 • Natural Eucalyptus Fragrance • Topical Creme Formula • Promotes Joint Comfort* • Promotes Healthy Connective Tissue* • May be used as frequently as desired. MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) and Glucosamine Sulfate are the subject of advanced research on connective tissue and joint health. MSM is a compound rich in sulfur - a crucial component of the tissues, Glucosamine is a building block of cartilage. Now, Natrol combines these two compounds in an easy to take tablet.* MSM is also called 'organic sulfur,' naturally occurring sulfur. You find it in rain -- and in all plants and animals. It is widely used around the world for relief of pain from arthritis, back pain or muscle pain. There is no known toxic level of usage. In its purified chemical form, it is an odorless, essentially tasteless, white, water soluble crystalline solid. It is one of the least toxic substances in biology, similar in toxicity to water. Naturally-occurring sulfur, such as that found in MSM, is not similar to inorganic sulfides, sulfites and Sulphates to which many people are allergic. MSM is a relative to dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), a unique therapeutic agent used worldwide in the treatment of many painful and inflammatory conditions. MSM has many of DMSO's properties, but without the oyster-like odor and other side effects. Some of MSM's essential functions in the body include maintaining the structure of the proteins in the body, helping the formation of keratin which is essential for hair and nail growth, aiding in the production of immunoglobulin which maintains the immune system, and catalyzing the chemical reactions which change food into energy. Many years of clinical use at Oregon Health Sciences University has demonstrated that MSM provides the following pain relief and anti-inflammatory benefits without serious side effects: Inhibition of pain impulses along nerve fibers (analgesia) Lessening of inflammation Increase in blood supply Reduction of muscle spasm Softening of scar tissue MSM is often so effective for pain relief that doctors are able to lower the dosage of medication they prescribe for patients. Sometimes, they are even able to discontinue the medication altogether. The end result is relief along with fewer or no side effects that are frequently caused by prescriptive medications. Glucosamine sulphate is produced from shrimp shells, which have esentially the same biochemistry as human cartilage. Glucosamine is not only safe but an active supporter of proteoglycan synthesis (i.e., a producer of cartilage macromolecules consisting of a protein bound to a glucosaminoglycan). There is increasing evidence that Glucosamine does in fact relieve joint pain and inflammation for many arthritis sufferers, and that it may slow progression of the disease. Because of its ability to reduce and--in some cases--completely eliminate the pain of osteoarthritis, some physicians and researchers feel Glucosamine might offer si |

Cansema® Black Salve - Physician's Skepticism Removed
worried about my freind's baby?
a friend of mine is 3 months pregnant, and just found out one of her topical creams contains retinol- acid and vit A acid. she is so scared, i asked her to go see her physician, will the baby be ok?
She'll be ok. Next time she goes to her Dr., have her ask about this situation, or else call the office and put in a question to the Dr. The nurse will find out and call her back.
