What excel formula can I use to automatically generate a rating that’s one notch below the original rating?
I have a portfolio of securities and I would like to simulate a result under a situation in which all the securities get downgraded one notch. For example, if I have a security currently rated Aaa by Moodys, what formula can I use to make it downgrade to Aa automatically? I need a formula that can work with the whole portfolio. Thanks.
First, you have to set up a table(a simplified version of 4 ratings) say in A1:B3 you have
A1 A
A2 B
A3 C
B1 B
B2 C
B3 D
use a vlookup formula to lookup the downgraded rating, VLOOKUP(lookup_value ,table_array ,col_index_num ,range_lookup ) is the general format of the function, say the cell you want to show the downgraded rating is D1, so in D1, you put
=VLOOKUP( C1, A1:B3, 2, false)
C1 is the cell that has the original rating
A1:B3 is the table you build above
2 is the second column of that table you want the desire rating to return if there's a match
false is use because we expected there's an exact match

when i drink sierra mist it reminds me of the refreshing taste 7up used to have but now 7up tastes bitter and more generic as its current logo looks and thats the same with sodas owned by them(crush,rc cola,vernors ginger ale,a&w,squirt,and what ever else they own)see 7up was part of pepsi but when sierra mist came out 7up was dropped from the company in the u.s. with a different taste
7-up was never owned by Pepsi but they did have the franchise rights to it in some areas. As for Sierra Mist the formula was developed by the same man that developed the Original 7-UP formula.
