Organics Leave Moisturizing
Hair Products for Black Hair that provide moisture and thickens hair?
I need a little help picking out hair products for my hair. I am black with relaxed hair. I noticed my hair is very dry and breaks easily. I was watching you tube and found a lot of people suggesting aphogee hair products. I bought the shampoo, leave in, green tea reconstructor and 2 min. reconstructor. The only problem is most of them are high protein. I am returning everything but the green tea and 2 min. reconstructor because I need to add moisture to my regimine. Can anyone recommend some good moisturizing products for black relaxed hair, that wont weigh it down. I am also looking for products to help thicken my hair as it is very thin. I heard Bolage was good for moisture as well as Organics Olive Oil. What do you recommend?

My guess is your hair is probably thinning out and breaking easily because you are putting too much heat on it thats what damages our hair!
I decided to completely banish all use of heat on my hair except doing perms because it thinned my hair as well. My hair broke off 3 yrs ago from braid extensions I got directly after a relaxer was placed in my hair and it was short like chin-length. My hair is usually very thick/full (like Oprahs) It is very lengthy (mid back) as a result of using essential oils and keeping my hair braided while wearing a protective style, a fall or half wig.
Essential oils include castor oil, coconut oil, olive oil, rosemary, llang llang, etc. and so forth. "Wild Hair Growth Oil" is pretty much a mix of olive oil and castor oil so you can buy that to try it out. Do a regular hot oil treatment or wrap set the hair (use silk scarf) using the oils sparingly. The hair is breaking because its dry and needs to be moisturized the scalp needs the moisture to encourage growth. Massage your scalp daily. Avoid over combing or brushing thats actually taking our hair out as well!
I would suggest trying to find products that include "biotin" its a nutrient which promotes hair growth and thickness as well. I take a vitamin supplement Women's One A Day and it has helped me restore the breakage and continue to grow my hair out. Eventually I will upgrade to getting a vitamin specific to helping me with my hair growth.
I have found keeping my hair braided up low maintence (no heat, no combing and brushing in it) has helped Most so far. It has begun to become a bit more full. I just started doing it a couple of weeks and notice a difference. I do wear relaxers like you but I try to limit myself to only 3-4 relaxers a year which means I wait at least 3 months before getting one. I use the Organics Olive Oil relaxer its great, definitely get that and I heard about Apoghee too so you should be ok.

I have naturally curly thin hair that's shoulder length. i currently use mane and tail moisturizing shampoo and condtioner along with garnier fructis leave in conditiner. i heard that garnier fructis did animal testing and was wondering was it true? and what's a really good leave in conditoner?
