Is Hair Tonic (grease, oil) healthy? ?
No matter what type of conditioner/shampoo I use, my hair has this dry complexion I can't stand. So I found some "Hair Tonic" in my dad's closet and decided to apply it. My hair does look shinier, but all I'm wondering is, is it healthy?
Note that it isn't too much grease I'm applying, just a fair bit to give it a sort of glow (my hair's black).
By grease, I don't literally mean grease. I mean just to make it look sort of...greasy.
It's technically oil for the scalp.
Try a leave in conditioner. I like VO5. They have a cream (like hair dressing) and a nice light spray in type. I put on when my hair is dry, where I need it. It works for me and I have very long dry hair.

Im looking to buy some essential oils to apply to my hair (to remedy dryness)
I'v heard jojoba is good, and also olive, almond, and peanut..etc
Well my question is can i mix a few drops of a couple of them and put them on a base oil? What is a base oil, does it have any value/special qualities or does it just hold the oils? is it the same as a "carrier" oil?
Im a bit confused.. i wanted to mix them coz iv heard that about 25 different oils are good and i don't know which one to pick so i thought i would mix?
Rosemary essential oil is great for dry hair,I've used this many times
1 tablespoon Jojoba carrier oil
3 drops Rosemary
Mix the Jojoba and Rosemary in a small bowl. Wet your hair with warm water and then apply the conditioner. Let it sit on your hair for 15-30 minutes. Then, wash your hair as normal. Jojoba and rosemary are helpful for dry hair. The rosemary is also said to be helpful in aiding dandruff.
You could use castor oil instead of jojoba-it's good for skin and hair
Base oil and carrier oil are the one and same thing

I disagree with the last poster about the iPod- it's nice to have your own music to relax to during labor.
You should bring a nail file for the baby. The hospital doesn't provide these, and they come out long sometimes.
I packed WAY too much stuff, and it was a lot to lug around and keep track of. I would let the hospital provide the baby care items and laundry (diapers, ointments, blankets, washclothes, ect).
Also, be careful of introducing a passifier if you are breastfeeding- it could cause problems latching. You should wait until you have a great latch established before a passifier. We waited 3 weeks, and my daughter was a comfort-nurser, which was okay because now I have a great supply.
