Normal Hair Growth Rate

Is this a normal hair growth rate?
I was talking to one of my friends. I have to have my hair chemically straightened (relaxer) once a month or else my hair looks like a lion's mane and just as controllable. lol Anyway, I was tellin my friend that I guess it is a good thing I need one once a month because it is an indicator that my hair is growing. She told me she only has to get hers straightened once every 3 months. Is it normal for hair to grow that slow or is that more of a genetic thing?
hair grows between 1/2 inch to 1 inch per month. Your friend may just have the lower end length growth and you may have hair that grows EXTREMELY fast. everybodys bodies, hair, fingernails etc is different so of course its going to be different. It would be one thing if your friend was your identical twin and it was growing that slow then id worry...it could be your hair just grows really fast.

| | Growth Rate (Group Theory) $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In group theory, the growth rate of a group with respect to a symmetric generating set describes the size of balls in the group. Every element in the group can be written as a product of generators, and the growth rate counts the number of elements that can be written as a product of length n.As an immediate corollary of this inequality we get that the growth rate does not depend on the choice of generating set. | | Exchange Rate and Exports Growth $109.93 As of now Indian rupee has been under the market determined exchange rate system for almost 16 years and in this period one would expect more fluctuation in the exchange rate. This paper seeks to revisit the issue of exchange rate (RupeeDollar exchange rate) and its impact on exports to see whether there is any significant relationship between them in the postliberalisation period (April 1991 to December 2007). Using a multiple regression model (in which monthly data of all the variables are taken), the study finds that exchange rate is not the main factor, there are such other factors as lagged values of exchange rate, Indias GDP, and its domestic demand which are affecting Indias exports. | | Rate of Profit, Distribution and Growth $42.84 A controversy among economists has raged in the pages of professional journals for the last decade. The debate concerns capital theory and distribution theory, as well as interpretation of models of longrun economic growth. This book is an attempt to integrate recent developments in capital theory and show their implications for models of longrun economic growth in mature capitalistic countries. This book first presents the von Neumann model and outlines its classical approach to the rate of profits and distribution. Sraffas resolution of the valueprice transformation problem is then presented and compared with Samuelsons Surrogate Production Function. With the results of this comparison and the delineation of the special case in which the Surrogate is valid, several existing models of growth are set out in two representative groups. Neoclassical models form the first group. These are defined by their reliance on marginal theory to determine factor prices, the rate of profit and therefore distribution via the perfectly differentiable production function. Models of Meade, Tobin, Solow, and Samuelson Modigliani are outlined and analyzed for their treatment and distribution and profits theory. The second group is comprised of models within the strict Keynesian tradition. The basic groundwork of these models as found in the work of Keynes and Kalecki is first cited. The Keynesian models are characterized by their assumption that the investment decision is totally independent of savings decisions in the economy. The models of Harrod, Kaldor, Pasinetti and Joan Robinson are presented and their method of approach to the rate of profits and distribution is analyzed. The concluding chapter focuses on some criticisms brought against the Keynesian models and offers some generalized formulations to deal with these neoclassical objections. General conclusions follow the treatment of each representative group and author. Dr. J.A. Kregel is professor of eco |

| | Growth Rate in the Stock Horse. $115.71 Due to their different body type compared to the thoroughbred, stock horses grow at a different rate. This study was done to evaluate the growth of young stock horses. Measurements taken included: height of wither, height of rump, circumference of cannon bone in the front and hind, knee height, hock height, heart girth circumference, weight and body condition score. The same measurements were taken of the mare and sire as well in order to calculate percent of parent mature measurements of the mare and sire and the measurements of the foal. This study found that colts attained larger measurements than fillies in most measurements and fillies reached mature measurements faster than colts in knee to ground height, hock to ground height and wither height. All measures were highly correlated in the first 60 days. Fillies reached 26.75, 37.06 and 50.62, and colts reached 26.05, 42.05 and 60.37 percentage of dam weight by three, six and twelve months, respectively. | | Normal and Malignant Liver Cell Growth $476.35 Although cell turnover in normal adult liver is extremely low, hepatic tissue is notorious for its almost infinite capacity to regenerate in cases of viral, toxic or traumatic damage. Hepatocellular carcinoma isone of the most frequent malignancies worldwide and causes more than a million deaths per year. The mechanisms governing normal proliferation and malignant transformation of liver cells are of utmost interest for theunderstanding of regeneration and hepatocarcinogenesis and for the development of new therapeutic strategies. Therefore, the International Falk Workshop held in Halle, Germany, on January 2930 1998, focused on theissues of normal and malignant liver cell growth. Knowledge in this area of research has expanded rapidly during recent years. This book of proceedings summarizes the latest advances both in basic science and clinicalresearch. Stimulating discussion set the basis for the development of new strategies in diagnosis and treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma and for the manipulation of regeneration in cases of acute or chronic loss offunctional liver tissue. | | Hair Follicle $78.07 A hair follicle is a part of the skin that grows hair by packing old cells together. Attached to the follicle is a sebaceous gland, a tiny sebumproducing gland found everywhere except on the palms, lips and soles of the feet. The thicker the density of the hair, the more the number of sebaceous glands that are found. Also attached to the follicle is a tiny bundle of muscle fiber called the arrector pili that is responsible for causing the follicle lissis to become more perpendicular to the surface of the skin, and causing the follicle to protrude slightly above the surrounding skin (piloerection). This process results in goose bumps (or goose flesh). Stem cells are located at the junction of the arrector and the follicle, and are principally responsible for the ongoing hair production during a process known as the Anagen stage. The average growth rate of healthy hair follicles on the scalp is half an inch per month. Certain species of Demodex mites live in the hair follicles of mammals (including those of humans) where they feed on sebum. hair growth for a black woman??
Wanted to know what's the normal rate for a black woman's hair of growth...I shaved my head in November(7 months ago) since then it grew 3 inches. Is it normal??In your opinion does it grow fast or slow?
The average growth is about 1/2" a month, which would mean in 7 months it would grow about 3 1/2"
so your hair grows just a little slower than normal.
My hair grows about the same rate.
You should check out this site, I'm tri-racial and it helped me grow my hair 1" past my shoulder (still working on it!)
It has a lot of different techinques to grow hair long, strong, and healthy including washing and combing techniques, hairstyles, a vitamin and mineral chart, and even food suggestions.
