How do i properly hydrate/grow my hair?

I have been trying to grow my hair out for nearly three months now. I have done everything I have supposed and im not seeing much results. I swtiched to hydrating shampoo because my hair was feeling very dry. this is the steps i do: I take nioxin hair growth vitamins, use matrix hydrating shampoo and recently the conditioning balm, i switched to a wide tooth comb, i use chi silk infusion. Is there something I am doing wrong? I only wash my hair every other day too. Any tips would help please

Hair products are not for growing hair. How you care for your hair, has nothing to do with growing hair.
How often you wash has nothing to do with growing hair.
When you wash your hair with one of those nutrient-rich shampoos, most of the nutrients and active ingredients in the product don’t actually end up in your hair, they wind up down the drain… along with all the money you spent on the shampoo. Like eating mushrooms, there are good and bad mushrooms.

It is HOW you use to style your hair or what styling tools that damage the hair, and what chemicals you're adding to the hair, not the shampoo.

If you're eating all the healthy foods from Mother Nature, nothing made by man like Chi or John Frieda or supplements from GNC, your hair will grow. The hair industry is a billion dollar business, they sell products that clean & condition the hair. They also sell products that damage or causes hair loss due to 'abuse'.

If you've straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all.
Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair" - the website had moved, type it in. Two others also:

Growing healthy hair doesn't come from a bottle or pills and hair products do not speed hair growth. Any hair oil, is another form to keep hair moisturized, nothing more. If you're in HS, your hair & nails should be growing normally, and as healthily as possible, since you're eating healthy foods. But when hair isn't growing as fast, it's because they've been tempered with: chemicals, hair straightening, etc. . .

My hair didn't get down to my knees. It is a product of good genes, good food with cheap $1.99 shampoo, no conditioner. We also have soft water. When traveling I briefly rinse with bottled water. I also cut my split ends (yes even healthy hair get split ends due to normal brushing & styling) 5-10mins. on a sunny day, using 2" scissors, strand by strand, section by section. Then, 2x a year I cut 4" off.

I know hair. I have over 4 decades of hair know-how. I have silky, shiny, soft, smooth very healthy hair down to my knees. Previously damaged by perming & dyeing in the 80's & 90's. I've known people in their 30's whose hair stopped growing from ironing their hair in the 70's.
