What's a pretty, natural hairstyle that I can do without the harshness of braiding?

My hair is short (about mid to lower neck length). I went natural in order to try to grow out my hair for a longer period of time. Right now I'm just searching for a good, natural hairstyle that's not too high maintenance, without the tight-pulling braids (my scalp is really, really sensitive; braiding pulls my hair out). When I put water on my hair it gets curly and looks light brown, but becomes really tough. What's a good hairstyle that I could do?

Also, what's a good treatment that provides hair growth?

When I went natural, I did a lot of double strand twists and bantu knots. And don't forget straw sets.
