Month Hair Regain
So, ive been shedding hair for awhile. When does it stop and get thick again?
So, i've been shedding hair for a long while now, several months actually. Did a bloodtest and turns out i'm very low on iron, So, now i'm taking three iron pills a day. Does anyone know when the shedding excessivly will stop and when the hair will regain its thickness back? I've been on the pills now not even a week yet.
Thyroid normal. Everything is except the iron levels were beyond average low.
There are many different reasons for excessive hair shedding. Hair is being shed all the time at a normal rate about 80 to 100 hairs per day. No, you will not go bald at that rate! It will take just over 7 years for the normal person to lose all their hair at that rate.
But taking iron pills for only a couple of days will not make an immediate change that you can see. Your hair will continue to shed for some time. These old hairs have been affected, but the new hairs growing in will be in better health. So you may expect to see the shedding slow down somewhat in a month or so, but may continue for even a year before you are back to "normal". Don't worry about it. If you are seeing more scalp (with accurate before and after measurements, not only your opinion), then you are actually losing hair. But whatever is shed is normally being replaced by another hair in that same follicle in a couple of weeks. When the follicle is dead, no hair will ever grow there again. It is impossible to make new hair follicles -- you have all you will ever get when you are born.
It is vital that you be in excellent health in order to have great hair. Any disturbance in your health, any illness or even pregnancy, will affect your hair. Look after the whole body so that all the parts (including the hair) are in top shape.
