Styling Hair??

I actually have two questions. I am going to get my haircut in a shorter scene cut and I would like to know how to style it for my type of hair. I style my hair about once a week with big sexy hair root pump plus, paul mitchell extra body styling gel, and redken 10 guts hairspray while teasing. The problem is that I don't know my type of hair (ex. straight, wavy, semi-wavy).

And... How do you style shorter scene hair and also have it look good when it isn't styled? And don't give me links to youtube videos about styling hair when it is longer than chin length. I am getting my hair in a chin length scene style, and just want to know how to style it.

Which should I use before the other? Paul Mitchell Extra body foam, and Paul mitchell smoothing serum? ?

I want more volume to my hair but I want to keep it shiny and not frizzy too. Which product should I use first? Should I use them right after eachother or use one, dry my hair a little bit, and then use the other, and finish drying my hair. How should I do it?

Use them together! We call it "cocktailing" when we mix products. Put your usual amount of mousse in your hand, then put your smoothing serum right on top of it. Rub your hands together lightly to work it all in a little, then work it through your hair.
Be sure to avoid using large amounts of the smoothing serum, as it's quite heavy and will tend to weigh your hair down easily. =)
