HELP! too many baths lead to a dry min pin?
I adopted a 7mo. old min pin whose owner had kids who loved to play with him. Anyways...they gave him a bath about twice a week which has severly dried his skin and lead to hair loss. He has no allergies and his diet is fine. I was wondering if anyone knew of any topical (skin lotion....) solutions?
I'M not bathing him,his previous owner did.
I would ask the vet for some spray for his skin or an antihistamine so he doesn't itch and scratch all the time. we always added a tablespoon of vegetable oil to our dog's food every day and that really helped to keep her skin supple and her coat glossy and healthy. I know you can use fish oil capsules but the veg oil was cheaper for us and there did not seem to be any ill side effects and the dog lived to be 16.

I've been using the Detox cleansing treatment and shampoo for 3 months, and it seems to slow the hair loss by 50%. The cleansing treatment does not clean very well, but the shampoo works great.
