Lost Hair Topical
Why Is My cat losing her hair?
She started losing hair on her front right paw. Then it spread I guess to the left paw. It isn't crusty, scaly, pussy, red, inflamed, or anything! It just looks like its balding or something. No change in diet that I know of. She is mostly outside except when it get's below 40 degrees. Then I bring her inside. I also have another cat that is a Manx long haired. She is unaffected. My cat is Black and I believe she is a Bombay breed and she is short haired. Please help. Also I want to know if it is okay to put a topical cream on it or fungi cream because I believe it is ringworm.
Do not put ANYTHING on her. Get her to A VET to be diagnosed. Do you really think anyone on here can magically diagnose your cat? Since you irresponsibly allow her to roam like a wild animal it could be any number of things - a disease from another cat, a chemical burn, an infection from a wound. GET HER TO A VET.
And FYI - just because she's black doesn't make her a Bombay. The Bombay is a pedigree cat and you wouldn't have one unless you bought her from a breeder. Your cat is NO particular breed - just like over 97% of the cats on this planet. And there's no such thing as a longhaired Manx - they're always shorthaired. The Cymric is the longhaired version of the Manx and yours isn't one. Most likely your cat has a short or missing tail due to inbreeding.

Anyone have advice regarding Alopecia Areata or hair loss in general?
I have alopecia areata. It is supposed to be genetic and autoimmune, but I think stress is definitely a factor (I just finished my first semester of vet school). I lost a large (about 3-4 inches in diameter) patch of hair on the back of my head very suddenly in October, and have had no regrowth. My hair is generally thinning out. My doctor prescribed a topical steroid, but I am wondering if anyone has had luck with the steroid injections? Rogaine? I know it is mostly a cosmetic problem (also likely due to the fact that I am hypothyroid), but my head itches from time to time, and in the three months I've had it, my spot keeps getting gradually bigger.
Is it worth it to see a dermatologist or should I just plan on getting a wig? 
I've also heard evening primrose oil helps . . . Any ideas would be appreciated. My hair finally grew out and now I'm going bald. Luckily, there are more important things in the world . . . Thanks!

Research studies have shown that in about 80% of the participants, products containing minoxidil are effective in slowing hair loss and, in some, causing regrowth to occur.
Probably the most well known with this ingredient is Rogaine as you may know. Scientifically-produced products do have separate products for males and females, because, of course, hormones in each are different and of different levels.
An additional product containing minoxidil is Provillus, and, again, studies have shown it to be effective. The difference between Provillus and other similar products is that the makes have added Azelaic Acid.
Its an additional ingredient which appears to enhance the follicle repair in both men and women. Provillus has been the subject of many studies, just as the other products, and level of effectiveness may be higher.
The treatment is a combination of a topical liquid applied to the balding areas, as well as a pill or capsule to be taken in conjunction with the liquid.
The critical key to effectiveness, according to its makers, is the addition of the azelaic acid, however, the correct amount of this acid is most important piece of this treatment.
