Led Hair Loss
Losing a LOT of hair regularly? I'm freaking out a little bit -- please help!?
I've read a lot about hair loss causes on the Internet, but still wanted to post a question that specifically relates to my case.
I'm a 17 year old female and have noticed that I've been losing a LOT more hair than usual. Both in the shower and just if I touch my hair when it's dry throughout the day. A lot of full-length strands just come out, and it's kind of bothersome! In mid February, I switched from showering at night to in the morning, which consequently has led me to have to blow dry my hair every morning. I use the hair dryer on its highest setting. Could this be the cause? I have been under stress recently (AP tests), but nothing severe by any means. And my eating pattern has altered slightly, but nothing really severe there either.
Can anyone please inform me of a possible cause? (and help me not freak out about it so much and think I have a thyroid problem). Also, more importantly, how can I fix this??

Do dreadlocks cause thinning hair or hair loss?
I've seen it posted in a few forums by different people claiming their dreadlocks (or their friends) have caused their hair to thin, led to bald spots, or simply caused them to to lose hair.
At the same time I have seen it posted on Dread FAQs that this is a simple myth.
So, what is the real answer?
And just so you know, I'm not interested in your opinions about dreadlocks. I just want the answer to this question.
