ION Hair Straightner
Anyone use Ion Hair color?
Please this question is for the people that mix & dye their own hair...Ion hair color, light copper brown, I cannot get the desired color to take...even tried switching from a 20 vol. to a 30....nothing...it ends up coming out VERY DARK...instead of light & coppery looking...any insight? All old hair color is removed before I start the dye process if that helps
What is your natural or beginning hair color? This can make a huge difference? Also when depositing hair color it often will first be darker then desired color.

Hmm well my hair has natural wave/body so I guess I'm not terribly helpful.
But one of the best ways to create body WITHOUT a perm is to do layers. On really straight hair, it won't be as dramatic, but it will help not pull down the hair and it'll give your hair some dimension.
If your mom is right and your hair does have plenty of body, layers will help. It'll also allow your hair to be wavier (floofier?) if you get some good product.
My hairs not spiral curls curly but it's definitely got some curl to it, so I used Curls Rock for quite awhile. (Did I say “curl” enough? Curl.) I dye my hair now, so I had to switch to a color safe shampoo, otherwise I'd still use it.
Wash your hair every other day (I cringed initially, but it's SO not a big deal) to help keep natural oils in your hair which keeps it healthy. Damaged hair is not floofy.
I am not someone who buys into hype generally. But a couple of years ago I bought an ion hair dryer or whatever it's called. It dries my hair significantly faster. Big plus. I'm not patient enough for blow drying my hair otherwise.
Other hype item: Ceramic, boar bristle round brush. Ceramic dries hair faster (see “patience” comment above) and the boar bristles help create volume. Sounds inane but it really has nice results. And not too expensive at Ulta.
Best thing to do, though, is go complain to your stylist. My guess is she'll recommend layers first. But you guys can evaluate after that. Just remember: perms take forever to grow out (hence: permanent) so do not get one on a whim.
many out there, but try using Mixed Chicks products before you iron. And if you want to work with your curls, use their leave-in on wet hair and air dry.
