How can I tell my mother?
I have started an intensive outpatient program for depression/anxiety. Its gotten so bad, that I was having suicidal thoughts that wouldn't stop. I broke and I called a crisis hot line who in turn recommended therapy, which I am doing now. I have been on meds for years, but the last four months have been hard. My husband has been awesome and very supportive, however on one day of the week we have family therapy. As much as I would like to bring my mother, I don't think she understands how I am feeling and what depression is. I love her very much, we are close but deep down I think she sees me as crazy.
Going to the doctor with you is a great way to ease her fears. He can answer all of the questions she may be too afraid to ask you.
He can reassure her that depression is a medical condition caused by a problem in your central nervous system. It's as serious as heart attacks, seizures, etc. Once she becomes educated, she'll probably try to learn as much as she can about it.
IOP is really a great way to let her see from other people what it's like, to hear them talk about what they go through so she doesn't feel like it's just you. It really helped my boyfriend to come to a few of my open IOP sessions. He's been great ever since, I think he finally realizes there's something genuinely wrong and just wants me to get well.

Has anyone used Nioxin Intensive Therapy Deep Repair Hair Masque?
I ordered hair color from a supplier and he sent me this on accident. He's not really cooperating so I'm thinking about just saying eff it and keeping it but I've never used it and can't find any reviews of it online. Has anyone used it? What did you think?
Yeah I've been using it, even used it yesterday when I washed my hair.
It makes my hair feel reeeeally soft and smooth and I love it. Mine is almost running out so I plan on buying more.
