Hair Regain How can I regain my thick healthy hair from dry and thinned out due to anorexia?
Hi there, I am recovering from an eating disorder, if you have already been in recovery, than I suggest to start taking prenatal vitamins, they have really helped my hair thicken back up a lot, and made it silky again. This will also help you get a lot of the vitamins your body has been missing. If you haven't recovered, get help. My good friend that I met in my counceling group passed away last July (age 23) from anorexia, conjestive heart failure. It was aweful, she was so miserable. Here is a site with mroe information on eating disorders and has a lot of help links too

Good luck on your recovery, hope this helped for your hair!! **HUGS** Toni Lynne
Diets work, but what good are they if the weight returns? Statistics show that 80 to 90 percent of dieters regain every lost pound. This fact represents the largest and least addressed problem in obesity management. The recidivism of dieters fuels a $30 billion weight loss industry, an industry that would shrink like Al Roker`s waistline if the newly-thin could only make weight loss stick. But here is the problem: The skills needed to maintain a new, smaller size are not obvious or intuitive; they must be taught. Inexplicably, books that deal successfully with ways to prevent regain have gone unwritten. Refuse to Regain by long-time weight-management authority Barbara Berkeley, M.D. fills this void.Berkeley, former medical director for the Optifast program and founder of Weight Management Partners, is a board-certified internist. She continues to have close ties to Novartis Medical Nutrition (recently acquired by Nestli) producer of the weight loss supplement Optifast and Optifast is likely to join in promoting Refuse to Regain

Hairstyles & Hair Health : How to Regain Lost Hair
If hair loss is due to excess DHT hormone, can balancing it regain the lost hair?
To much protein, and high caffeine diet can increase the DHT hormone level which can also destroy hair. If we lower the amount of protein and caffeine intake, will it balance the DHT level and can the hair re-grow?
I have never heard of anyone able to balance the DHT level by lowering the amount of protein and caffeine. High amount of protein which could possibly cause hair loss usually comes from protein shakes or creatine taken for muscle building. It would be much ideal to try and control your DHT levels by either using Minoxidil (i would however suggest visiting a physician before you take it) or otherwise a natural product such as Saw Palmetto which is all natural and without any side effects and does the same job. To find more about DHT and how Saw palmetto helps in controlling it, you can visit the link specified in the source.
