What's the difference between a hair salon and a nail salon?
I was thinking about purchasing a nail salon and changing it into a hair salon. What steps do I need to take in order to get a permit? I live in Colorado, so some laws are different from other states. I heard that it's very hard to switch over.
Is it true that you have to start from the beginning?
Please help.
I live in Minnesota so the laws are probably different. Here they test on three levels of worker and manager. First is nails then facial and finally hair. In order to be able to get a permit you must have an on-site manager with those licenses. Due to the large amount of immigrants (legal or not) there is a bit of horsetrading of permits ( using someone's license if they are retired or they work in a different shoppe and that shoppe is permitted --- schools selling hours of credit so the tests can be taken). So be careful and upfront. I have had partners that have done this --- and I turned them in and lost some cash. Good Luck with your salon --- make sure you know what type of clients that you want... adn go for it !!!
