Hair Loss Concealer
Is it okay to not wear make up to prom?
I'm 16 (gr 11) and my boyfriend in gr12 asked me to prom with him and I said yes.
I know it's a big event but I don't know anything about prom or make up or how to look fancy... My mom and my friends don't either, so I'm really at a loss at what to do.
I have medium length black hair, and I usually leave it down, and I don't wear any make up. I don't use concealer either even though I have acne, no one's really taught me anything and I don't know what to buy and I don't really have that much money.
Would it be okay for me to leave my hair and face normally to prom? Like how I would usually have it? My boyfriend says he likes my hair straight and long, but I don't think it's "fancy" enough for prom.
Any tips?

P.S anyone know where to get cheap prom dresses? I don't want one too expensive because I have my own prom to go to next year and I don't want to wear the same dress.
I think it's fine if you prefer to go without make up but it would be fabulous if you did wear it. If you are you should practice doing your make up so it'll be perfect on your prom day.

First you gotta know the basics of make up so read these:

K now with some of that knowledge it'll be easier for me to explain to you what and how to apply.
Step 1: Cleanse. Cleanse your skin with a cleanser that is targeted on acne.
Recommended: Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash
Step 2: Moisturize. Very important especially if you have dry skin. However if you have oily try a lotion instead.
Recommended: Dove Day Cream (for dry skins) or Cetaphil Lotion (for oily skin)
Step 3: Smooth out blemishes. Do that by using a acne treatment. Dot it on your blemishes and rub it in gently.
Step 4: Apply Foundation. To get the right shade of foundation, go to shoppers drugmart and ask the lady at the beauty counter to find a shade in "revlon color stay" that matches your skin tone and type. You could also ask their opinion on how they like to apply it. Foundation is too hard for me to explain so just read this:

Recommended: Revlon Color Stay
Step 5: Set it in. If you want your foundation to last, then apply setting/finishing powder. Loose powder is the best by the way.
Recommended: Cover girl Professional Loose Powder
Step 6: Apply some eyeshadow. look for eyeshadows that compliment your dress.
Recommended: Some brands with good eyeshadows that are fairly cheap would be Wet n' Wild and N.Y.C (New York Color) or CoverGirl
Step 7: Apply some lip gloss. A clear one would be nice.
Recommended: Covergirl WetSlicks
Step 8: Your done!!!! Yay!

Leaving it down will be fine! But make sure you get it silky straight and SHINY. Yes, that means you gotta watch ANOTHER video =D
but, if that seems like too much work, then go to a salon and let them shampoo, condition, dry and straighten your hair like few hours before the prom.
