Hair Growth Phases
I heard your hair stops falling out ("is arrested in the growth phase") when you're pregnant. Always true?
Supposedly you don't shed the strands of hair you usually do during the pregnancy, which is why after the pregnancy is over your hair will fall out in clumps.. it seems like you're going to go bald but you're really just shedding all the extra hair you built up over 9 months.
I don't know about it ALWAYS being true though.. It has for me that's for sure, but I know some women who say they shed alot when they were pregnant.

Why's my hair falling out ?
I have a 5 month old baby, and I understand that your hair gets stuck in the growth phase when pregnant, but is it normal to have it still falling out 5 months later. I don't just mean a little bit. It's constant. No matter how gently I touch my head, I have about 20 strands of hair in my hand, and I can do that repeatedly, and still loads of hair every time. It's really beginning to get to me now.
Hair loss after a baby usually starts at around 5-6 months. I had very little loss but my best friend had handfulls daily. The doctors say that when you're pregnant your hair gets thicker and that this is only the extra hair falling out. It will slow down over a period od 6-8 weeks and you won't go bald. Relax, it's normal.
