How often should dandruff-affected hair be washed using a good Anti-Dandruff shampoo?
I have bad dandruff, but it's been decreasing since I started washing my hair everyday with anti -dandruff. If I leave it for more than 2 days , more dandruff accumulates and my scalp itches like crazy,...
I have dandruff for like a month,month and a half, then it goes away ,.and then it comes bac again.. what shd i DO>? any tips?
BTW, I use Head and Shoulders ..
I would say no more than 3 times a week. Maybe ask your doctor for a prescription shampoo. And if it is too bad comb salt through your hair and it will take the flakes out.

One of the most common, irritating, and embarrassing problems people face these days is dandruff. Everyone knows what dandruff is. It's that annoying, flaky, sometimes oily stuff going on in your hair. Everyone hates it, and they probably should, because it can be terribly embarrassing, but it can also be unhealthy. People really need to focus on taking better care of their hair. Taking action to ensure good, healthy hair is your responsibility. There is nobody in the world that can make you wash it, but with that said you should at least "try" to practice some type of personal hygiene.
People who have come in contact with dandruff know how hard and frustrating it can be to get rid of. While nobody can actually prevent that nasty flakiness, there are steps that can be taken to help reduce the risk factors of coming into contact with it. Allow me to share with you some things that you can put into action to make sure that you never have to deal with this problem, or face the humiliation it can cause if people know that you have it.
Well, the first step to take is the most important. You absolutely must make a routine of shampooing and conditioning your hair. I do not mean every once in awhile either. You have to make a personal commitment of regular "washings". Now depending on what type of hair you have and that sort of thing, you should definitely test out all kinds of shampoos and conditioners. Find the "right" one that best suits your needs and wants. If you do not like the shampoo, then how will you ever get yourself to use it? Make some type of plan or schedule that you will stick to, so that you can maximize the benefit of clean and moisturized hair. This alone is the biggest factor in reducing the risk of dandruff. It only makes sense that you bear that in mind, when taking the approach of how serious washing your hair can be.
Another big factor is that you should not let yourself get too much sun. Yes it is true; too much sun can lead to a dry scalp, which causes dandruff. What happens is the sun withdraws all the moisture from your hair, leaving you vulnerable to "drier" conditions than normal. Ultra violet rays and light can have a dramatic effect when it comes to the moisture in your hair. Pay attention to what you are doing when outside in the sun, and remember how long you have been out there. This can greatly reduce the risk of getting a dry scalp.
Now that you know a few factors that can reduce the risk of dandruff, lets turn our focus to people who already have dandruff. Do not break down just yet; there is still hope for you. First and foremost, you need to go to the store and buy yourself some anti-dandruff shampoo and conditioner. These types of hair products are made especially for these occasions. Set you up that routine we were talking about. But, once you have that routine in place there is even more that you could do.
There are literally hundreds of remedies available for people with dandruff. One thing you should do before choosing a remedy is to read the entire contents of the product. You never know what could be going on with this product. Remember that this is a remedy that someone comes up with. It is not a cure that doctors have tested and released. Most remedies released for conditions such as dandruff do not have any type of "weird" effects, but you will always want to make sure.
Once you get a good medicated shampoo, conditioner, and maybe a remedy or two in place, you need to focus on using them all simultaneously.
Now some things to focus on once you do have dandruff is to stop using gels, hairsprays, and hair-coloring products. These really are not meant to be used if you have dandruff. If you absolutely must use them, then it is suggested that you should not use excessive amounts. Use them as sparingly as possible.
The last thing I want to cover is that if you do get dandruff, then you should not itch it. It can become one of the most irritating situations you will ever have, but itching only ads to the condition. If you scratch long and hard enough, you could cause scabs to form on your head. This can be extremely painful for you when you go to wash your hair. Your best bet is to avoid itching at all costs.
Last but not least, your condition severity is your discretion. It is recommended that you do see a doctor if the dandruff problems persist. Seeking the medical attention of a professional will probably be the smartest move of all. Most people feel embarrassed or just do not want to spend the money. That is your decision. If the shampoo, conditioner, remedies, or anything else you have tried do not help the situation then I suggest you suck up your pride and go have that head of hair of yours looked at right away.
