Hair Alive Has

is human hair alive or dead?
had a discussion about cat fur balls, and my friend said that the fur in their stomach would be mostly protein like human hair?? we both wondered if he was talking rubbish, and then we also had a debate about whether hair is alive or not, i say tis dead.....
Protein is not classified as something that is alive, so it is dead.
Hair is protein, so hair is dead.

| | Alive $16.97 When someone describes a CD as Chinese music, the question becomes: what kind of Chinese music? Instrumental or with vocals? Traditional Chinese music, or modern Chinese pop? Of course, modern Chinese pop is far from one-dimensional; some of it is very bubblegum, and some of it is a lot meatier and much more substantial. Alive is definitely an example of Chinese pop that has substance, not to mention a sense of adventure. In some cases, Chinese pop sounds a lot like American pop except for the fact that it is performed in Chinese; if Hilary Duff and Jessica Simpson sang in Chinese, they would be perfect for the more bubblegum, Radio Disney-ish side of the Chinese pop scene. But Alive is nothing like that. This is modern Chinese pop that gets a lot of inspiration from traditional Chinese music (including Buddhist music), and female singer Sa Dingding also draws on non-Chinese influences such as funk and electronica (including trip-hop). This 2008 release is a perfect example of the east merging with the west musically, but again, Alive isn't trying to be American pop (or British pop) with Chinese lyrics; Dingding is obviously well aware of the rich history of traditional Chinese music, and that influence serves her well even though she isn't a traditional singer herself. This memorable outing makes it clear that the expressive Dingding is both a risk-taker and an artist of depth. ~ Alex Henderson, Rovi |
| | Alive! $7.98 The last gasp of the Mitchell Trio is a surprisingly lively affair. Despite the fact that only Mike Kobluk was left of the original members, they sound very good on this live recording. You can easily detect the emergence of John Denver as the group's frontman, and one surmises that if the Mitchell Trio had stayed together this process would have continued to the point where it would have been John Denver and his backup singers. Still, there is enough interplay here to make it a legitimate band album. Unlike the original members of the band Denver was a gifted lyricist, and the first recording of his song "Leavin' On A Jet Plane" is a highlight of this recording. Kobluk, on the other hand, has no solo turns on this album and has been relegated to a background role. New member David Boise got his first and last solo turn on the old Appalachian ballad "Coal Tattoo" and held his own on the lovely harmonies of "Cindy's Cryin'". Based on that slim evidence he was an able performer with a fine voice, and his subsequent failure to ever make another record is somewhat mysterious. Most of the material on Alive! is political, and though it is naturally dated now it is still obvious how effective songs like "Adam's Rib" once were. (This is a relative thing, of course - political folk music had moved on by 1965, and The Fugs could draw a bigger crowd than the Mitchell Trio.) Alive! is a rarity now and was not widely promoted when it was new, since by the time it was released Kobluk had left the group. Denver and David Boise toured for a while as The Mitchell Trio with new member Mike Johnson, but after a short period they dropped the Mitchell name and called themselves Denver, Boise, and Johnson. ~ Richard Foss, RoviPerformers: Paul Prestopino - 5-string Bass, Banjo, Guitar; Bob Hefferan - Banjo, Guitar; Jakub Ander - Guitar; John Denver - Guitar, Guitar (12 String), Vocals; Michael Kobluk - Vocals; Bill Lee - Bass, Guitar (Bass) |
| | It's Alive - $12.99 A happy young couple gives birth to a horrible monstrosity in this remake of Larry Cohen's 1974 killer baby classic. Graduate student Lenore (Bijou Phillips) has put her education on hold in order to have a child with her architect boyfriend Frank (James Murray). They're planning a new life together in the country when their unborn child begins growing at an alarming rate, and doctors are forced to conduct an emergency C-section for Lenore's safety. When every medic in the operating room is brutally killed, the frightened new parents rush their newborn home and do their best to pretend everything is normal - but it isn't. Their newborn son Daniel is an abomination, and prone to savagely attacking anything - and anyone - that gets in his way. Though Lenora does her best to protect Daniel, even after it's plain to see that he can't control his murderous impulses, the evidence that something is terribly wrong becomes too powerful to deny when the mangled corpses of dead animals and people begin turning up in the area, and all signs points back to the demonic little bundle of rage with an unholy appetite. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi |

| | Slade Alive! [Bonus Disc] $21.97 Although the American rock audience largely shrugged Slade away, the anthem-slinging hard rock quartet was positively huge back home in the U.K., in no small part due to the band's rep as a total live experience. This U.K. double-disc assembles the band's three live albums -- Slade Alive!, Slade Alive, Vol. 2 and Slade on Stage, then tacks on six previously unreleased tracks from their Slade Alive at Reading '80 performance. That's a lot of live Slade, but it's solidly packed with consistently strong, no-nonsense rock. The first live album, released in 1972 and the only one of the three to score chart points in the U.S., finds Slade in a transitional stage: having recently shed their skinhead look for one more in tune with the era's glam fashions, Slade had developed into a sizzling, audience-embracing performing band. Slade Alive! finds Slade one step removed from the pub rock boogie of bands like Humble Pie and Status Quo, and on their way to formulating a larger-than-life arena rock persona. Mixing choice covers like Ten Years After's "Hear Me Calling" and Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild," with originals by lead vocalist Noddy Holder, Slade has already got their audience in thrall here. The quirkiest number is their take on the Lovin' Spoonful's ballad "Darling Be Home Soon," which starts out as sweetly as the original before cranking up the volume. By the time the second live album was released in 1978, much had changed in music. Punk rock was the rage, Slade's era as a steady contributor to the British singles and albums Top Ten charts had faded, and many young punters had no use for their like anymore. Ironically, much of Slade Alive, Vol. 2 was recorded in America in the fall of 1976, and while the rest comes from British performances in early 1977, Slade's star had fallen so far down by then that the album charted in neither country. Strange, because it's certainly the best of the three. With burning run-throughs of Slade trademarks like "Mama Weer All Crazee Now," "Gudbuy T'Jane," "Everyday," and "Cum on Feel the Noize" (Slade had long ago taken to altering spellings in their song titles), along with a passable tribute to Elvis Presley's Sun Records era that fuses "My Baby Left Me" with the uncredited "That's All Right, Mama." Even if the general public had lost interest, Slade's influence had spread far and wide enough to attract upcoming heavy metal/hard rock musicians unencumbered by the trendy punk baggage of the day. Quiet Riot would eventually score a number one hit with "Cum on Feel the Noize," but before that Slade began a bit of a comeback as the so-called "hair bands" looked to them for inspiration, and a new wave of Brits, embracing the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, saw Slade as forefathers. For sure, Holder's nuclear-powered screech was a prototype for countless shaggy maned frontmen to follow, and both Slade on Stage (from 1982), comprised almost entirely of original material both old and (then) new, and the 1980 Reading m |

| | Hair $11.98 It's easy for an older rock fan to enjoy a track like the opener, "Just Don't Know," from the Lonely H's Hair, a track that draws heavily from classic rock without sounding overly derivative. At just over three minutes, the vocal, harmony, and big chords come together so effectively that they'll restore one's faith in the kind of rock that seemed to have passed from the scene in 1977. The acoustic-based "Rollin'" and upbeat rock of "Yeah, Yeah" create a similar vibe. A photo of the band, each of the five members topped with a resplendent head of hair, also seems to hark back to the '60s and '70s, a fact reinforced by the album's title. Other cuts -- like "The Meal" and the title cut -- sound more contemporary, but even here, the guitar work of Eric Whitman and Colin Field is grounded in an earlier era. Backed by these guitarists along with a rhythm section made up of drummer Ben Eyestone and bassist Johnny Whitman, Mark Fredson puts these songs across with a great deal of confidence. The Lonely H also reveal themselves to be ambitious on "The Drought," a multi-part song partly in the tradition of Queen and extended for eight minutes. "The Drought," however, lacks the spark or cohesion of a good Queen mini-opera, and has the effect of weighing Hair down four songs in. The remainder of the album veers from the heavier rock of "For Barbara" to the keyboard-based pop of "Captain." While the material on Hair lacks consistency and is perhaps too eclectic to fit together, the Lonely H deliver solid performances that should please fans of the group's first CD, Kick Upstairs. ~ Ronnie D. Clipper Cut - How to Cut Hair with Clippers
How to stop hair loss and stimulate regrowth?
I have a huge forehead. I'm using Minoxidil, but doesn't seem to be working very well, kind of make hair loss go slower, but I'm still losing my hair. If there's nothing to do, I've heard of surgeries where they put new hair. How does that work? After you have the surgery, does hair grow (is is alive?)? Or is it just fake and dead hair you cannot cut? THANKS
I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too
