Why don't Americans know the following myth about immigration?
Myths About Immigration (http://www.justiceforimmigrants.org/myths.html)
Immigrants take jobs and opportunity away from Americans
•The largest wave of immigration to the U.S. since the early 1900s coincided with our lowest national unemployment rate and fastest economic growth. Immigrant entrepreneurs create jobs for U.S. and foreign workers, and foreign-born students allow many U.S. graduate programs to keep their doors open. While there has been no comprehensive study done of immigrant-owned businesses, we have countless examples: in Silicon Valley, companies begun by Chinese and Indian immigrants generated more than $19.5 billion in sales and nearly 73,000 jobs in 2000.

I'm an immigrant myself, but I actually support a stricter immigration policy. Does that mean I'm a hypocrite?
Okay, so I'm 20 years old, but I was brought to the US as a 1 year-old baby.
I think there should be comprehensive immigration reform, with children of illegal immigrants who had no choice in coming here amnestied, and conditional amnesties for other illegals IF they pay fines, learn English and have no criminal records of note.
BUT I also believe that the immigration levels we have right now are WAY too open, and we let in more people every year than we should. I think the family-unity program has gotten out of hand, that we should eliminate H-1B visas so Americans can have jobs, and the US is already overpopulated and we should focus on Zero Population Growth.
Oh, and I also think that visa-lottery system is a scam and should be gotten rid of.
Are my views too radical, and do you think they make my hypocritical?
No, it means you have a brain and understand the law. I'm the grandson of a Mexican immigrant and great great grandson of an Irish immigrant. And I'm all for stricter laws, mainly for illegal immigration.
