Has anyone tried the laser comb which is supposed to make your hair grow?
For some reason I always feel compelled to answer these hair questions when I see them. Long story shortened, I am folically challenged and early on searched for any solution. I did try rogaine, but a special preparation that was double strength along with retin-a, a mild acid. So I have some experience.
Anyway, for one thing, the only things on the market, period, that have proven to help grow "any" hair are rogaine and propecia. Unfortunately even those offer mild results, usually growing some fuzzy, thin hair on the very top of the head. The skin at the front of the head is very thick and doesn't allow much of the rogaine to penetrate where it can do some good, hence the reason I was using the special mix of meds with the intention of overcoming the skin thickness, to no avail.
Propecia is about the same, it works on DHT, the hormone responsible for starting the whole hair thinning process, but the results are about the same as for rogaine, mild at best.
Other than those two things, nothing is going to bring back your hair. Researchers are working on the genetics of hair thinning and hope to one day have a way to turn off the gene responsible for triggering the process. But until that time comes, better get used to a shiny head.
All the lotions, preparations, combs, oils, massages, vitamins, ect, are a big waste of money and time. Honestly, if there was anything out there that could really regrow hair, a problem affecting millions of men, don't you think it would be all over the news? And it would be sold by the gallon and we would gladly pay for it.
With that said, if you use rogaine or the generic version along with Propecia you could potentially slow the process and hold onto what you've got a little longer. But keep in mind that the first thing that rogaine does is cause a lot of hair to fall out, taking hair from the resting phase into a growing phase. And then it will slowly begin regrowing.
Anyway, spend your money wisely, or should I simply say, save your money and buy a new shirt to complement your shorter hair style.
