Green Tea Head
Is Green or Black tea toxic for rats?
I know that for humans, Green tea, especially, the gunpowder varieties have been known to have anti-carcinogen properties for humans (at least as a preventative measure). If human and rat systems are as closely similar as everyone thinks would it be possible to give rats tea (in addition to blueberries, asaci berries, etc) as a preventative measure against tumor growth? Maybe not the highly concentrated variety in the average cup of tea, but after you've drunk your tea, you could re-use the leaves/tea bag in new water and steep whatever is left out, to give to them maybe? It's been floating about in my head for a day or to.
You should check out the Yahoo group for the holistic care for rats. Yes, you can give them the teas. I don't even do diluted. If I have some tea and they're around and want some, they can have some. I've given my guys some cooled off green tea when they were under the weather, and I've also made chicken soup for the rats when they were ailing.
Just realize that the healing properties of all these natural foods and plants that prevent cancer have to be eaten or drunk in such immense amounts to do any real good. It's also a matter of genetics. Cancer is carried down through the generations, and I know that first hand, and from my own experiences.
If you want to further the lives of your rats, feed them a good diet (preferably organic) along with filtered or bottled water.

Lipton Green Tea Addiction?? Bad?
Ok well, here it goes..... I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Liptons Green Tea with Citrus. I LOVE IT!!! Its about the ONLY thing I drink. I drink it (beside that it is amazing!!) because i DONT BREAK OUT when I drink it. When I drink coke, or any other soft drinks I break out like a possom riding a chicken heading to Tennessee! But with Lipton, I don't! I buy them in packs, there are like 12 in a pack and I (usually) go through a pack a day :/ I also go to the bathroom like 6 times a day when I drink it. It REALLY flushes me out! Sometimes I don't even think im peeing urine. I think its green tea! LOL! (not really). But, am I an addict? Is this bad? Is it bad for me??
That's a lot of tea. I thought I was going through a lot the days I had 12 cups!

there is no tazo tea in it. It's made with matcha which is a green concentrated powder from Japan. It's also contains melon syrup and a milk powder base (I think). You can also get whipped cream on it. You order it like this: I'd like a Venti Green Tea frap please. You can get extra melon syrup or less. You can also order it with extra matcha which used to be free, but now it's 50 cents extra
