Was O'Hair's lawsuit to ban astronauts from publicly praying in space entirely frivolous?
After the astronauts aboard Apollo 8 read from Genesis during their 1968 flight around the moon, Madalyn Murray O'Hair sued NASA to prevent future astronauts (being government employees) from public prayer in space. Though the case was rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court for lack of jurisdiction, it did cause NASA to be skittish about the issue of religion throughout the rest of the Apollo program. If I was going up into space, I wouldn't dare stop praying. I put my faith in God, not in machines made by human hands. I think it's shameful the way some atheists try to get all semblance of religion banned. If they're so high and mighty that they don't want to believe anything is true, let them. But don't push their atheism on us and expect us just to roll over. If a Muslim goes into space, I think he/she would have as much right to read from the Qu'ran as a Christian would have to read from the Bible. If an astronaut is simply in awe of the magnificent and huge creation of God, then let him/her show it.
The problem is most people want freedom *from* religion, not freedom *of* religion.
i really just want to comment about the Corinthians one no one knows what Jesus looks like he can be any race but the world pictures him white with long hair and a beard but he might not even look like that
