Washing hair after dying?
Hi, I just finished dying my hair and I was wondering, I know it says to rinse and then just use the conditioner, but can I wash it? What harm will it do.. Honestly I don't remember if I have ever shampooed after I dyed it. I think my salon did after they dyed it for me.. is this okay? I don't really want the color to wash out, but I also don't want the color to get everywhere and my hair to be oily. Should I just shampoo tomorrow night or would shampooing and rinsing out in the same process be ok? thanks
I think I'm going to wash it because the salon always did and it came out good, and other people say they always have and the color has not washed out.
It's perfectly fine if you wash it. Cosmetology Schools, and Salons use Shampoo. If you use just conditioner, it won't get all the excess color off of your sculp and hairstrands...The Color will still be on your hair, once you finish shampooing it, So no need to worry about that.

How do I remove a great amount of hair buildup?!?
For the past two months my hair has been in a worse shape than it ever has in my life. Every time I finish taking a bath or shower, when I walk out my hair is rock solid from buildup on the back of my head. It has a greasy and chalky feeling, and it makes my hair look wet when it is not.
I scrub at my head (almost to the point of bleeding sometimes) in the bath and scrub my hair against each other so the gunk will come out. I also rinse several times normally, then with a bucket. I have used Neutrogena, Nexxus, Redken, Biolage, Image essentials (cheap), and Garnier Products in these two months, but none of them have worked. It got to the point where I could not use any products of any kind besides shampoo. No conditioner, no hairspray, no flat iron, nothing.
I want to have the silky hair I used to have, but I don't know what happened! Please give me any possible tips you have or an explanation as to why this suddenly happened so severely to me.
try an apple cider vinegar rinse. mix about a 1/2 cup of vinegar with water and put it into a spray bottle. spray it all over damp hair. leave it on for 15 minutes. then shampoo and condition as usual.
