In the presidential elections, what is will be a big factor: special interests or a stable economy?
Have anyone ever noticed that politicians tend to appeal to specific voters in special interests? For starters, look at the Republicans and the Democrats. The Republicans tend to be conservative, favor big business, conservative evangelic Christians and taken a war initiative since 9/11? Democrats are more liberal, having to take a big interest in illegal immigration, ending the war and siding with minorities like hispanics, African-Americans and the homosexual community.
I mean, sure it's fine to preach change and peace and all that, but how can we as individuals advocate saving the ozone layer, amnesty for illegal immigrants or even debate/advocate for or against such hot button issues like abortion, gay marriage, illegal immigration, stem-cell research or social security benefits if the people are too broke to pay for $8.00 per gallon of gasoline (assuming it's a no name brand), getting their homes foreclosed or higher expenses all because of a weak dollar, outsourcing/ recession?
The focus SHOULD be on a stable economy, and national security, but for the most part, especially the democrats focus more on special interests.
