Each Pumps
Why do some gas station pumps have one pipe each for every octane gas and some have one pipe for all gas?
You see some gas stations that have three pipes at a pump...one each for the three octanes. Other gas stations have just one pipe for all the gas. Are there any advantages/disadvantages of having three pipes or one pipe?
So the single pipe is the newer technology?
It's just the way the pump is made.

So again, two pumps are pushing water down pipes that eventually merge into one (forming a reverse "T"). If the pressure in the merged pipe is known, P, what is each pump's contribution to P?
Each pump operates at different flow rates and pressures.
The diameter of each pipe, including the merged one, remains constant.
The system is horizontal.

It depends on the kind of pump and the pressure drop in the two legs.
If they are centrifugal pumps then each will have a performance curve that is specific for that pump and the amount of fluid being pumped will depend on the pressure at the pump discharge.
You would need to calculate the pressure drop in each leg for various flow rates add that to P and compare them to the pump curves to determine what each pump can produce.
If they are positive displacement pumps then discharge is not really a consideration only the capacity of the pumps. Each pump will deliver it fixed volume regardless of the discharge pressure.
