How to prevent a piercing from getting infected?
i pierced my own ear (in the cartlage) 8 days ago, and it's doing fine, not hurting much, but my parents said i could not get it done so i did it myself. i'm not going to tell them, i'm waiting for it to heal more. i'm using the pierced ear cleanser from claires twice a day, and putting anti-biotic ointment on it as well. in addition, I'm wearing only fine earrings, and turning them daily. no signs of infection yet, but i just want to make sure i'm doing everything right. Throw out the solution and get some noniodized sea salt.
Mix 1/4 tsp of the sea salt with 8 fl oz of water, preferably distilled. Heat in the microwave until comfortably warm. Then soak a cotton ball or clean paper towel in the solution and hold it against the piercing for 10 minutes, making sure to completely saturate the wound in it. After wipe the crusties away and dry it.
Also stop using the ointment on it. Ointment isn't meant to be used on puncture wounds, it actually traps bacteria inside and starves the wound of air, making infection more likely.
The jewelry you're using probably isn't correct. You should be wearing implant grade surgical steel or titanium captive bead rings (or horseshoe rings) or a barbell (bent barbells are fine too). Any kind of stud with a butterfly back is too short and made of the wrong kind of metal, not even gold is really appropriate; most gold has a surprisingly high nickel content (that's the metal most people will react to). And the butterfly backs are fabulous for hiding bacteria and way too hard to clean.
Once you have proper jewelry in, stop turning them. There's no reason to; if you're wearing correct jewelry, you're tissue won't adhere to it. All turning the piercing does is interrupt the healing process and set back healing.

What is a good skincare products that works really well with dry skin, but at the same time gets rid of acne?
I need a to buy som new skin care products..A cleanser, scrub, toner, moisturizer, and eye cream that gets rid of fine lines. Does anyone have any recommendations for which product I should use?
I'm pretty sure Proactive with moisturize your skin while removing acne.I've been using Proactive for a while now and it works amazingly! I haven't had a breakout in a while, and if I do get a little acne, it goes away fast. I just wish I could get rid of these scars
