Change Hair Growth Direction
Any shaving experts out there?

After years of using an electric shaver, I have changed to a traditional wet shave. The problem is, due to electric shaving, my facial hair growth is in all directions, So shaving with a razor in one direction is not as clean as it should be. If I continue to shave in one direction will the hair growth alter? Shaving in the opposite direction gives me a rash.

What you need to do is buy a steel razor, just the blade (make sure you buy a good one) and learn to shave the old fashioned way.

Now this is actually something you will have to learn because unlike with a mach3 or wilkinson sword there is no protection, however if you can master it then it is undoubtedly the cleanest and most natural shave you can ever have.

It took me about 3 or 4 shaves to get it right but i have never used anything since and never would. Also, you should buy a face scrub to use before you shave as this tightens the skin but softens the hair, not only making it easier to shave but also allowing you to dictate what direction your hair will grow.

Ellen Fullman's third album, Change of Direction, culminates her Long String Instrument project, which began in 1981 when she discovered the haunting tones created by long wires stretched over great distances. The Long String Instrument consists of 100 wires strung over a 90-foot span, and is rubbed by three performers for a flowing, resonant sound. Change of Direction's 11 tracks capitalize on this quality, resulting in songs that sound like ghostly blues. Pieces like "Nocnoca/Aconcon Flip" and "Aconcon Progression" are variations on a theme, set to a walking cadence that is both comforting and eerie. ~ Heather Phares, RoviPerformers: Ellen Fullman - String Instrument; Nigel Jacobs - String Instrument

The Starting Line have been through career woes in the two years since their second album, Based on a True Story, entered the Billboard chart in the Top 20 in 2005. Those woes can be suggested by noting that the album was off the chart after only six weeks, having been "de-prioritized" by Geffen Records-distributed Drive-Thru Records, and not long after that the Starting Line were without a label. The band bounces back with Direction on Virgin Records, and fans may not notice the difference. The sound, leaning now toward heavy metal (especially early on), then toward pop (especially toward the end), is still in an energetic pop-punk vein, even if it's a bit more sophisticated in certain ways, particularly in rhythmic terms. Producer Howard Benson has brought in percussionist Luis Conti on many tracks and, in a key change, even replaced drummer Tom Gryskeiwitz on three songs with session ace Kenny Aronoff, who powers the first single "Island" and what ought to be the second single, "21," as well as "What You Want." The band has also added a keyboard player, Brian Schmutz, to the lineup. The move to a more evolved sound is not surprising for a group that seems to use pop-punk as something of a flag of convenience, anyway. Singer Kenny Vasoli, while expressing the angst and uncertainties of youth, has a sweet, conventionally optimistic viewpoint in many of his lyrics. When it comes down to it, he's just not a punk; he wants love and looks forward to having grandchildren. He may sing, "It's 7:00 and I'm already wasted" in "21," but, whether he's just tired or suffering the effects of "the medicine that keeps me well," whatever that may be, he wants to straighten himself out. He's not angry, he's just confused, and you get the feeling he'll pull himself together and have a happy life. Direction is about musicians who may have veered off course temporarily (or been driven to the side of the road), but who are righting themselves and determined to push on. ~ William Ruhlmann, RoviPerformers: Kenny Aronoff - Drums; Howard Benson - Keyboards; Luis Conti - Percussion; Mike Golla - Guitar, Vocals (Background); Jamie Muhoberac - Keyboards; Brian Schmutz - Keyboards, Vocals (Background); Tom Gryskeiwitz - Drums;

Change Is

Change Is

Change Is, is the final album by the Don Rendell/Ian Carr quintet, a small Brit jazz group that took the country by storm and was well received in Europe and in limited circles in the United States. The band developed a unique sound that came out of hard bop and moved through many different phases, developing a unique musical language before they reached the mountain top of creative expression with this final album. Trumpeter Ian Carr, of course went on to form Nucleus, and enjoyed continued high-profile success. Saxophonist Rendell took a lower key approach but continues to contribute to the growth of British jazz with numerous projects as a leader and as a sideman. Other players here include pianist and composer Michael Garrick, drummer Trevor Tomkins, and bassist Dave Green. Guests on this set include African percussionist Guy Warren, saxophonist Stan Robinson, bassist Jeff Clyne, and pianist Mike Pyne. The six selections on Change Is run the gamut. The album opens with "Elastic Dreams," featuring all manner of Warren's percussive imagination. Green bows his bass as Clyne plucks his, and the band enters slowly, following both mode and melody by coloring phrases before breaking into a low-key, swinging, funky kind of Eastern blues before the bassists enter into a bit of contrapuntal duet soloing. This is followed by a swaggering, straight-ahead hard bop in "One Green Eye." Then there's the deep blues experimental groove of "Boy, Dog And Carrot" with Garrick playing harpsichord. "Cold Mountain," with its nod to Eastern blues and harmonics is sparely textured and delicately played, and, the classically tinged post-bop of "Black Hair," is an eye-opener before the set closes with the nocturnal grace of "Mirage." This was a send-off that must have had British jazz fans being simultaneously delighted and in mourning for the passage of an era. Reissued by England's BGO label on CD in 2004, Change Is stands the test of time exceedingly well. It still sounds fresh, brave and innovative in the 21st century. ~ Thom Jurek, RoviPerformers: Michael Garrick - Harpsichord, Piano; Ian Carr - Flugelhorn, Trumpet; Guy Warren - Bells, Maracas, Talking Drum; Jeff Clyne - Bass; David Green - Bass; Mike Pyne - Piano; Don Rendell - Flute, Sax (Soprano), Sax (Tenor

Types of Hair Re-growth Treatment

To look good, it is necessary not just to wear good clothes, shoes or jewelry, but also to have a good mop of hair that looks healthy. For women, the yard scale is much higher than men, for them hair could make or break their image and life. They find it extremely important to look good, have bouncy hair all the time this is why a lot of time and money is spent at the beauty parlors getting all sorts of treatments and conditioning done. Before attending a party or wedding, they visit the parlor to get their hair styled in a certain way and make sure it is set in place and looks good through the evening. If they get noticed and are appreciated for their hairstyle it is a boost to their self-confidence, however, if they are frowned upon, they take a beating and feel conscious. Little do they realize that using harmful chemicals could damage the hair leading to hair loses. And there are very few hair re-growth treatments available today across the world.

In order for them to regain their image and self-esteem, they would resort to using any re-growth treatment as long as results are visible. For those who can afford expensive treatments, they might opt for hair transplants, whereas others will try all sorts of medication and use various products. Just like our hair takes nearly a year to grow a maximum of about 6 inches, we should be patient when trying to re-grow hair. One cannot expect to go to bed bald and wake up with long luscious hair, it is not possible and not practical. Our body needs time to digest the nutrients and vitamins from the products being used and then process it slowly to see visible changes. With advancement of technology, there are procedures where follicles are transferred on scalp to promote hair growth. Through replacement of hair right into the roots, modern hair transplant procedure helps cover all bald patches. Another option is to use artificial fiber in place of real hair for desired effect.

Some people prefer taking oral medicine or changing their diet to stimulate re-growth of hair. They will increase their intake of Iron, Zinc, Vitamin A rich food items into their diet, thereby helping the body get the necessary nutrients from these to help increase hair growth. There are some dermatologists who recommend application of ointments and creams directly on the scalp, when massaged regularly, these will help rejuvenate blood flow and make way to new hair covering bald areas. If the reason for hair loss has been determined to be stress related, the patient is advised to go to a yoga center or spa to help them relax and thereby allow hair to grow back naturally. In case of people who have been constantly traveling and living on junk food, they are strictly ordered to detox, and help their body get healthy, which in turn will have an effect on hair re-growth.
