Care Fibers Red
what's wrong with my kitten?
The day after we took my kitten in for her 12wk old shots, I found blood on the back of her behind. Immediately I took her in to the vet, who again re-checked her for parasites, worms, bacterial infections, and found nothing wrong with her. He suggested that it may have been due to the stress of the vet visit the day before (although she didn't act stress nor seemed to care lol that she was at the vet and did extremely well for a kitten). He gave her some fiber food (which she really didn't like or eat well), we put her on close watch and didn't see the problem again. Then tonight (she'll be 15 weeks old this thursday) my husband and I noticed blood on her behind again. We went through her liter box and noticed the fresh stool had blood on the outside (bright red) but not inside the stool. What could be causing this? Should I get another vet's opinion? She acts perfectly fine, a very happy very playful rowdy kitten. Any ideas?
Have you by chance noticed her straining when she tries to go poop? That in itself could be the problem. She may be having a hard time going, which causes this to happen at times. Moist or wet food may help to ease the problem...
