1st I’m tiring to grow my hair long enough to get this particular style displayed by Q-Tip here

I've been told I can achieve this soulful style by getting my hair long enough to braid then undo the braids and finger it out. I am tiring to find out different hair care techniques that will add this journey.
2ndly Is it true that itchy scalp = hair growth? How often should "We" (Black Men) wash our hair if we want it to grow at a rapid pace?

well i'm not a brotha but i am a sista. i like the hairdo you are trying to get. it's right you should braid it and then finger it out. different peoples hair grows at different times. i don't know how fast your hair grows but if you wash it every weekend i think it'll be sure to grow. also, keep it very well moisturized. there's one product called cury buttercream. it works so well on naturally kinky hair. well,i hope i've helped a little.

black hair growth journey!
Hair growth question?
I was going to cut my hair but I've decided to let it grow long. It's about 5 inches past my shoulder right now. I wash my hair every 3 days. Then blow dry and iron it. But I was thinking about not using heat products anymore since I heard it can really damage your hair. Problem is I'm black,white,and indian so I have thick and curly hair. One of my friends mentioned a blowout using a hair dryer. Anyone tell me what that is? And anything else that will help me on my journey to long healthy hair. Oh and alot of people tell me to drink lots of water and eat healthy,I already do that so I need other ideas.
First thing you should always do if you want to grow your hair long is to cut it. This seems contradictory, because you figure hey im already halfway there! But you need to make sure you have 0 split ends and 0 damage in your hair BEFORE you start growing it, or you will never see your hair look like anything but a hay/horse tail. Long damaged hair is not pretty at all.
Your friend probably means blowdry your hair straight using just a hair dryer. This is still using heat to style, and will still cause damage. Not to mention it can take an hour, and you still might have poofy hair that looks straightish. If you are serious about nice long hair, go with the curly. Use a few drops of jojoba oil on your hair and let it air dry. Use some good conditioner or oil and then leave your hair alone, let it grow quietly and do what it's going to do.
Also, GNC has hair growth supplements. Vitamins can't hurt.. your hair will just look shinier. GL!
ALSO : Washing every few days is fine. Washing your hair every day is not necessary unless you have a really oily scalp.

This is a tuff one. But when it comes down to it: if you don't feel safe there don't sleep there. I personally would not. Have your boyfriend sleep at your place for a little bit or something.
