Lotions, Serums Or Creams – What’s Best For You?
The skin care market is flooded by an extensive range of skin care products. With hundreds of products to choose from, how do you know which one is right for you?
Skin care products are available in a variety of forms namely lotions, serums and creams. They all have the very similar moisturizing qualities. All three of them contain humectants that moisturize the skin and emollients that seal in the moisture within the skin. However, their consistency is what makes all the difference in deciding which one will be the right choice for your skin type. Lotions have a thin consistency because of the high water content. Contrary to this, creams are thick and contain a whole lot of moisturizing nutrients. And then there are serums, which are the thinnest of all three. Serums are almost water like and best used in combination with lotions and creams. Let us study each of them in more detail.
Lotions
Lotions are lightweight substances that contain minimum oil and maximum water. Because of the low oil content, they are very suitable for people with oily skin. Moisturizers are an indispensable part of skin care regimen; lotions can be used by normal to oily skin. Not only are they easy to apply but they are also absorbed readily by the skin and are available in a variety of consistencies depending on the water-oil ratio in them. Hence, there are products available for oily, normal and even dry skin.

Creams
