Bio-ionic hair straightening? ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE TREATMENT!?
Can someone please tell me about this system? I have hair that comes down exactly between my bra clasp and my butt. It is African-American hair and has never been color treated. I do not want to cut my hair period. I have been getting a regular perm (only on the roots-the rest was flat-ironed) since I was eight, but I am tired of doing that and it only lasting like 5-6 weeks. Price isn't that much of a problem; neither is location.
Please help me out IF YOU'VE HAD THE TREATMENT. How do they do it? How long does it take? How often would I need touchups.

How to Highlight Hair : How to Color Roots When Highlighting Hair
straight perms, help me !?
Okay so,
I've ALWAYS loved straight hair and i myself am mixed,
half black, half white. I do have curly hair and am considering straight-perming my hair for summer time so its easier to manage. I've heard the japanese or bio-ionic straightening treatments work well, but I've also heard that some really dry out your hair.
My issue is, im 15 and play rep soccer 4 times a week. Its so time consuming to brush my hair out after washing it because it is soo curly. (but not too coarse.) My plan was to get it straight permed right before or at the beginning of summer vacation so it would be easier to manage. My hair grows quite slowly so I'm not too worrried about it growing in right away but when the roots come in, can I like straight perm it curly again or something?
Honestly, I'd prefer to NOT have dead, straw like, hair.
I also dont have time to straight iron it either,

the japenese straighting system is great, but its permanent and you can not return those ends to anything else, so no perms back to curly. its very expensive and time consuming.
have you ever just done a relaxer? i recommend them to my mixed raced clients, only because like you said your hair isnt very coarse, and its safer on the hair. they arent like they use to be, much gentler on the hair.
with relaxers you can wait several weeks and get a retouch just do not overlap retouched areas, not much regrowth to look at, but with the Japanese one you need to wait for awhile of growth to develop. and a second job to pay for it haha!
i have also used a straight perm, on mixed races, its by matrix called 2 steps to straight, its just like curly perm solution, but instead of wrapping it around rollers you pull the hair straight and let it pull the curl out itself. that seems to work well also.
our salon also offers the CHI system for straightening. similar to the japanese one but a little different. but just as costly!
so my advice to you is go with the 2 steps to straight. its probably the best for your active lifestyle. but have a professional really examine and give her advice with your hair in her hands, and get a quote also. maybe seek advice from her past clients. this is not a service you want from a begininer!
just whatever you chose you must have a plan, if you go straight, you must keep it up. nothing worse then growing that out. puffy roots and long stringy straight ends. ick. youd have to iron the roots and leave the ends till you can cut them off. so think about now but also in a year from not what you can afford and deal with. i think everyone forgets the future maintence part. haha.
oh and you mention brushing your hair out, throw that out! no brush should be near curly hair! use a comb or a pick, that brush is not helping matters.
