Bhringraj Hair
Indian hair dye on naturally blonde hair?
I have medium-blond hair which I religiously dye with Feria Starry Night (Bright Black). I want to switch to a more herbal dye, so I picked up a packet of Indian dye at the Asian market. Below are the ingredients and translations:
mehendi/henna
bhringraj/eclipta/thistle
brahmi/water hyssop
amla/goose berry
I am aware mehendi (henna) has a red undertone in it's natural state. However, amla (goose berry) and bhringraj (thistle) have darkening properties. I would be dyeing over the existing cool black, and the medium-blond roots. So my question is: would I wind up with a cool or a warm black? I'm thinking it'll be a warm black, but I'd appreciate experience feedback.

I would suggest caution.
The color retention of henna is not very strong and you cannot use many conventional hair color treatments over henna if you do not like the result. I'm not familiar with the other ingredients, but if they are not enough you will get "I Love Lucy" red hair color (Lucille Ball used henna over her blond) if they aren't enough to dye your hair black. Some brands of hair color (generally imports) also sneak in modern coloring agents with only a hint of henna.
You may like this book on using henna as a hair color. It suggests adding an ingredient called indigo for darker results.

Take a teaspoon with water first in morning for min 3 months,also add amla to it,mix both in equal quantity.
